Crochet Paperclip Bookmarks (What To Do With Left-over Yarns)

It's a bright and sunny morning! I bet most of us have our hands full today and what better way to relax and unwind? CROCHET! Yey!

What I'm going to share with you today is another great idea for give-aways or tokens. This project takes only a few minutes to make and the best thing about it is that you can use your left-over yarns or threads! You just need a large paperclip (colored clips works best), left-over yarn or thread (I used 3-ply crochet cotton thread on this) and your trusty crochet hook (mine's a size 8 hook, my favorite!).

Let's start with the butterfly paperclip bookmark.

For the butterfly, I got the pattern here.

http://melscrochetedcreations.blogspot.com/2013/05/fluttering-butterfly-free-pattern.html

Place the paperclip inside the butterfly (you can either glue it on or sew it, i prefer to sew the paperclip on), fold the butterfly into 2 and sew together the edges. Here's how it should look like.

Now, on to the flower bookmark. The pattern for the flower is from http://veryberryhandmade.co.uk/my-crochet-patterns/a-frothy-flower/.

And here's how it should look like...

Another idea is the Hearts bookmark. The heart pattern is from http://www.planetjune.com/blog/free-crochet-patterns/love-hearts/ and here's what the finished item looks like.

I've also tried using animal appliques for my paperclip bookmarks. You can try and search the net for animal appliques that you might want to use. I got mine from a Japanese crochet book.

They're so cute, aren't they? So grab your hook and thread and start to crochet!

Happy crocheting!
